General information
Internal medicine is the specialty occupying the largest share of medicine.
It brings together a number of other specialties such as pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, haematology, nephrology and rheumatology.
A challenge for the specialty is the multidisciplinary approach to health problem solving and the consideration of the human organism as a whole rather than as separately functioning systems.

Dr. Petya Petkova-Dikova is an internal medicine specialist in Sofia with over 22 years of medical experience.
She performs consultations as an internist and ultrasound diagnostics.
In case the patient expresses his/her wish, both traditional and homeopathic treatment methodology can be applied during the examinations.
Dr. Petkova graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 1999. She acquired her specialty in Internal Medicine in 2007.
She has all levels and courses of homeopathy.
She has participated in numerous national congresses and seminars on the specialty.
After her graduation, Dr. Petkova started working at the Emergency Medical Care Sofia.
She is a consultant at the Clinic of purulent-septic surgery at the University Hospital “N. И. Pirogov”. She is currently part of the team of specialists at Medcross Sofia. He speaks German and English.
