Pulmonology concentrates on diseases of the lungs and airways.
Of particular importance is the timely coverage of the infection, identification of the cause and prevention of disease chronification.
The condition of the lungs is of particular importance to the health of the whole body.
A prophylactic examination once a year is recommended.
Lung and respiratory diseases are among the most common worldwide.
They can be a consequence of genetic predisposition, as well as the influence of the environment, work mode, unhealthy lifestyle.

They have a spirometer with which, if necessary, they conduct a functional respiratory examination – a non-invasive test for functional disorders in the lungs, which guides specialists about the amount of air passing through the lungs during the normal respiratory cycle, the distribution of oxygen in the lungs, etc.

Dr. Maria Sokolova has over 10 years of experience. She is a pneumologist from Sofia, Bulgaria who performs diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases (asthma, pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary thromboembolism, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, neoplastic diseases, etc.).She uses her skills in ultrasound diagnosis of pleural diseases, pleural punctures, functional lung diagnostics and bronchoscopy in her clinical practice. Her clinical and research interests are in rare lung diseases, cystic fibrosis.
She graduated in medicine in Stara Zagora, and her specialty in Pneumology and Phthisiology – in Medical University Sofia.
Since 2015 she has acquired a specialty and a certificate for bronchologist.
She has worked in the Pulmonology Department of the Fifth Hospital – Sofia.
In the Pulmonology Department of Tokuda Hospital Sofia.
Currently, she is part of the team of the pulmonology department of the II Hospital – Sofia EAD and part of the team of specialists of Medcross Sofia.

Dr. Madeleine Stoyanova is a pulmonologist in Sofia with over 6 years of medical experience and practice in the field of obstructive and inflammatory lung diseases such as asthma and COPD, pulmonary tuberculosis and tumor diseases.
Dr. Stoyanova only works with adult patients and does not examine children.
He graduated from Medical University of Pleven in 2016 and obtained his specialty in Pneumology and Phthisiology in 2022 at Medical University of Sofia.
Member of the Bulgarian Medical Association and the Bulgarian Society of Pulmonary Diseases.
He has participated in numerous seminars and congresses on the specialty.
From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Stoyanova specialized in Pneumology and Phthisiology at St. Sofia Hospital.
From 2021 to 2022, she worked in the Covid-19 department at the University Hospital Alexandrovska Sofia. She is currently part of the team of specialists at Medcross Sofia.
